The Love/Hate Relationship with Religiosity
The problem as I see it, is America's naievete about this unfolding world that we are a part and cannot afford to disengage any time soon. The leading statement above is a truism that's an omen about this world. The real world has become a fool's paradise for crazed religionists from both the extreme left and right as shown by the pictures below. The most that we can do for our survival in the future is to apply that truism when it comes to any and all aspects of religious beliefs. Conservatives are up in arms about this mosque being built in New York because of emotionally lead religionists on both the left and right...from Muslims, to Christians, to Jews, to Mormons. However, they were not as outspoken with the Oklahoma bombing, attempting to justify that it was a reaction to Janet Reno and the Waco incineration.
Again, I admit that I'm no religious advocate but far from being an atheist, just balanced by the common sense that there is a power in this universe that's beyond mankind's comprehension, and know that so far, mankind has gotten it wrong since his inception.
Right Wing Conservatives...too dumb for words
Let's give it the old college try anyway. It's the mosque, the mosque! One rebuttal came from Newt Gingrich, Andrew McCarthy, and Sean Hannity...will the Muslims allow a church or synagogue to be built in or near Mecca or Medina?? C'mon "mush for brains," it's a Theocracy!! What do you think? You want to put modern America down to that level of thinking. I also heard Glenn Beck relish in the old early American thinking of religiosity in the New England colonies that reveled in the Judaic-Christian ethic...yeah, and the damned fools used to declare women as witches before burning them at the stake. Is this where you want to go? Well, you can count me and most other sane Americans of modernity out, and I believe this will be revealed in the upcoming November elections.
However, in the truism of keeping possible enemies closer, if this mosque is built in accordance with the Imam's motive of being a cultural center for all, then it will be obligated to laws of non-discrimination, tax disclosures on financial means, and a general obligation of non-proselytizing in a democratically open society...if not, turn out the lights, the Islamic party is over. Too callous?? Well, the chances that "sharia law" will be allowed to the extent it is allowed in the theocracies of the mid and far east is about as likely as a return to declaring women witches and burning them at the stake...bank on it!!
Religiosity and the Presidency
To the right wing whiners all of sudden hung up on the President's religious outlook...frankly my dear, I could give a damn!
He can read the Bible, the Torah, the Injil, the Qu'ran, the Upanishads, pray kneeling, standing, or lying flat on his back...as long as he does what's right by America of which he was elected to do.
Right now, it's not his religion that's my concern, but it's my wallet and the pocketbooks of other Americans that's priority...and he's not doing that great. I know, for I have been seeking people to expand my business that might be getting extended unemployment benefits, and can't get any assistance from the employment agencies who are doling out my taxes to these freeloaders with his support. http://infobuck.com
The economy has been and always will be first and foremost in the sights of the electorate...not religious proselytizing.
When Religiosity Borders on Insanity
With the past week's controversy on the President's religious outlook and his office having to even justify it to the nation, shows the merit of an atheist's non-belief in a God in this universe...as though there is some sort of colored coded menu to select. America is doing no more than showing gross stupidity to the rest of civilized humanity with this professed religiosity.
Is the President praying to a white Christ, a black Allah, a brown Jehovah, possibly a beige Buddha, or maybe a muti-colored Hindi divinity?...the absurdity is beyond intelligent logic.
Frankly, I might say that he may be worshipping the "god of golfdom" as did Tiger Woods and so many other saps in America do...seven sabbaths out of a week if they could.
When pot calls kettle black
Glenn Beck, the self-appointed prophet of Christianity for "conservative white America," has gone so far as to say that the President's religious beliefs are demonic in accordance with the Pope of Rome? Here's a flash to this muddle-headed Mormon, the Catholic Church considers Mormonism an apostasy of Christianity and yet Catholic "T-Bags" will be in your following, that will be held in DC along with your religious associate, Sarah (Sister T-Bags) Palin...makes me wonder where the Pope really stands in this political concoction?
