Surveying the Field...Why Paul Will Win
The next Republican debate takes place Monday evening 12 Sept 11 on CNN and here's the line-up with associated analysis:
Bachmann and Perry...wild-eyed religionists...pie-in-the-sky pandering.
Romney...a corporate lobbyist
Cain...affirmative action in denial
Huntsman...an affable gov't moderate
Gingrich...simply an outmoded has-been
Santorum...imperialist war advocate
Paul...common sense consistency
A caveat: If Palin enters the race, what could she say that Ron Paul has not argued for the last two decades, with the exception of "hate Obamaspeak"?
Whale Oil, Outhouses, and Slavery
There is a philosophical adage that goes something like this..."It is better to keep your mouths shut, and thought to be fools, rather than opening them and assuring the world that you are."
I think of this whenever I hear the "right wing conservatives" espousing that the country needs to simply get back to the principles and virtues of which the "founding fathers" wrote the Constitution.
A flash for these fools that follow the likes of right wing jerks, such as Rush Limbaugh, claiming that any American that doesn't think in accordance...lacks a "core." For this jerk's information, when those "WASPS" wrote that document, whale oil and outhouses were considered conveniences, and acceptance of human bondage to profit was a "core value".
We have since elevated our nation to a much higher level of existence, for most if not all Americans. There is an imperative not to regress to this "conservatism" that's espoused by right wingers...for that's a wing this country never should consider in our position of freedom, being brought to those who see America as an example of democracy.
Black Newspaper Survey Shows Paul As Most Viable
A recent survey conducted by "The Roanoke Tribune.com" http://www.theroanoketribune.com/index_1.html shows Ron Paul offers the most viable solutions to this economic crisis as it impacts blacks across the nation.
It also shows an increasing lack of confidence in Barack Obama's solving this crisis, which is not considered black or white but green, in terms of high unemployment for all segments of society.
This survey was conducted among long-standing voters that are readers of black newspaper publications across the country, and who are concerned about growing discord among youth. http://www.smallbusinesses.com/BlackNewspapers.htm
Why Not Over-the-Counter "Suicide Kits"?
In an e-mail exchange with a colleague, about the ultimate decision on the Affordable Healthcare Act, which more than likely is going to the Supreme Court...we tossed around a couple of "What If's?".
What if there was a disclaimer put on every pack of cigarettes that purchasers (which legally have to be "adults") would sign a statement denying access to benefits of the Affordable Healthcare Act....smoke at your own risk?
He replied, that a problem with the healthcare act is that it's forcing people to buy insurance, similarly to telling people who don't drive, you have to buy auto insurance. Of course, there is a provision in most if not all drivers' coverages for a non-insured driver...of which is not mandatory, but many if not most buy it anyway just in case.
Another approach would be to charge a healthcare tax, say at 25% to 50% on every pack sold to cover the costs incurred by smoking?
He replied, that would be like liquor prohibition during the thirties when bootleg sales only increased, thus with smokers we could very well see the same number if not more slow deaths caused by their addiction.
I suggested why not develop a quick, easy, and relatively comfortable "suicide kit" that could be sold over-the-counter like packs of cigarettes...far more economical while serving the same purpose as cigarettes?
He replied, that most addicts are simply cowardly weaklings; thus, why they become addicts. Besides, America's religions consider suicide a "sin"...and smoking is not.
In conjunction with this ethical dilemma, the healthcare and insurance industry would see a sizeable portion of business lost, in not being able to treat people with lung cancer caused by smoking...which could affect other markets such as yachts, expensive vehicles, nice homes, long vacations, jewelry, dining out...you get the picture?
Yeah...I said, it's called American capitalism.
Another One (Soulless Wonder) To Bite the Dust...talking jive.

A False Prophet and Hypocrite...
When mortals set themselves up as "gods" before other mortals...a big no-no. Ranks right down there with J. Edgar Hoover and Eddie (Jackleg) Long.
Con Artist Takedown!
Joe Mayo and Wife
From the "Roanoke Times" by Laurence Hammack 12 September 11:
Rolls Royce-driving pastor jailed for cheating on taxes, Social Security
The pastor of Paradise Cathedral in Northwest Roanoke was sentenced today to eight months in prison for cheating on his taxes and obtaining disability benefits to which he was not entitled.
The Rev. Joseph Mayo was ordered to spend another eight months in home confinedment by US District Court Judge Glen Conrad.
Mayo, 53 pleaded guilty in May to under-reporting income from Mayo Residential, a company he ran with his wife that offered services to mentally disabled people.
Mayo also admitted to receiving more than $100,00 in Social Security benefits for a back injury that he said kept him from working, when in fact he was preaching at his church and helping run his business.
Mayo was described in testimony today as someone who rose up from poverty to become a trusted and beloved minister---and a successful businessman who drove a Rolls Royce and lived in a home assessed at $615,000 in a posh Botetourt County subdivision.
Prosecuters said Mayo also cheated the government out of $583,000 by not reporting income from his business.
A Conservative in the Closet?
Maybe this link http://pssht.com/biography/rush_limbaugh.html gives ground for such a query?
Don't Tase Me...Bro!
Demonstrates Tasing...no laughing matter.
This sounds like a story coming out of an "Eddie Long" Sunday session, but is really a true story coming out of a church in St. Elmo, Alabama...the irony? A tasing took place in a "place of worship" in a town named after a saint. Sounds like a drama that's put on by Elmo of Sesame Street?
The story is that the church's choir director tasered the pastor over a pay dispute, of which the director's mother entered the melee; whereupon, she was stabbed by a deacon. No one was seriously injured, but they were charged and may wind up offering church services to the inmates in the Mobile County Jail...no inmate shanking...please.
Another "Earth" Discovered?
Scientists claim to have discovered an "earth-like" planet designated "HD85512b". It is estimated to be only 3.6 times the mass of "Mother Earth" and is located at the edge of the "habitable zone."
Rest assured, it will be light years before we humans can travel to it in order to discard our cigarette butts and beer cans.
