The Roanoke Tribune (Online)...Book Four
Why I'm suing the USDOJ and a Federally Subsidized Non-Profit
After doing some intensive research in establishing my business INFOBUCK.COM, I went to the TAP Organization in Roanoke and presented my findings to Ted Ehlich, the CEO, in conjunction with the Small Business Development Council. My business was not granted small business loan assistance as promoted by the TAP Organization.
I later came upon what is called the "Second Chance Act" specifically designed to assist inmates released from jail in getting back into the mainstream with employment and employment training.
I later enacted my concept in cooperation with the US Attorney's Office in Mobile under the leadership of US Ass't Attorney Kenyan Brown...successfully, I might add. We signed on some fifty former inmates that day, during the workshop that took place at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, AL.
I decided to use the same template in implementation in the Roanoke Valley, but was denied access in presenting the proposal to the office of the US Ass't Attorney in Roanoke, Timothy Heaphy. Admittedly, I had been publicly critical of his office in the waste of taxpayers' funds in opening a bureaucratic slot for a former Democratic councilwoman, Gwen Mason, strangely similar to my concept.
When I contacted her by phone and in person, I discovered she knew absolutely nothing about the implementation of the "Second Chance Act." I concluded that she was just a paid bureaucrat at $86, 000 annually...more than most of the local leading law enforcement chiefs.
I later saw this public promotion in the media, with Timothy Heaphy, bragging about the great work he and the local law enforcement agencies are doing in cleaning up the black community of the drug dealers. There is no empirical proof that his office with this high priced bureaucrat, Gwen Mason, is doing anything of a sort.
I have proof of my business being successful with this program but was denied even making the presentation in person to the USDOJ's office in Roanoke. I contacted US Attorney General Eric Holder about the situation...have yet to hear from him or his office.
Coincidentally, I even offered to present my program to the state of Alabama when they decided that inmates could possibly be used to replace immigrants in contracting farm labor with their big money supporters...a failed premise on the table. It is reminiscent of the old chain gangs for blacks that were reinstituted by Alabama, shortly after "Reconstruction" in conjunction with the "black codes."
I suggested to the state of Alabama as I did with the USDOJ, that if these released inmates were trained with a future oriented profession, of which we can do effectively, they would see recidivism reduced and at the same time enhance the overall health of the community at large...no response. Thus, my suit.
