The Utility Of It All...
I have most often been critical of civil rights' organizations led by "preachers" as opposed to industrialists, and that's because there are far more black preachers than there are black industrialists. The last great black industrial leader that did more for Black America and America alike was of course Booker T. Washington. This man with his sense of utility and his newly freed race did more for a people than any preacher did or has yet to do.
Unfortunately, the civil rights' organizations which mostly got their start in churches, were the product of "preachers" with one renowned MLK, Jr., who put his life on the line for what he believed, despite being fully aware of the consequences of his utility. Don't know of anyone else in Black America that's made such an open sacrifice, and don't expect to see any "black preachers" to fill his shoes.
So, what have we got today? We have con artists, self-aggrandizing at that, who come up with these cockamamie civil rights' movements such as the ones in the photos below, that promote their self-interest..."party with a purpose"...you name it, but ain't getting jack done. If black people have not caught onto the seriousness of their existence in this former slave-holding colony...they are bound to see history repeated, and not in a good way.
Farrakhan...just another con??
There's "Dis-Bar-Ment"...and there's "Death"
I remember one of Elijah Muhammad's teachings about the three levels of mankind. The highest level was that of "the angel" ascending to a level that gives one almost supernatural capabilities...beyond human limitations. The second level was that of a man or woman (human) with various weaknesses and faults, but with a conscience to keep them in check and to strenthen one's will to do better...this covers most of humanity. The third level is that of the beast without a conscience, no moral compass to discern right or wrong, carries no guilt or remorse...beyond redemption; thus death is the only thing to reconcile this beast, no longer considered human.
I referred to "Dis-Bar-Ment" as a penalty for anyone that brought shame or harm to Black America, thus kicked out of the "Black American Race" if such a judgement could be rendered...but, it's not in American society. Nevertheless, it was very prevalent in Mr. Muhammad's movement and carried out whenever found necessary. This brings me to a death sentence that could have been handed down whenever one of his followers committed an atrocity that had to be reckoned with. A captain or minister would issue a summons..."get rid of him or them." The one or ones who had the judgement served, somehow disappeared...don't ask me how.
I just read where a gang rape of a 11-year old took place in Texas, by as many as twenty black males, including some adults. These would be examples of "beasts."
If Louis Farrakhan, pictured above, were a true advocate of Islam as taught by Mr. Muhammad, and proclaiming to extend his (Elijah's) legacy, a team would be dispatched to see that "justice is properly served." I am willing to bet that Farrakhan is just another con offering no more than lip service, like other jackleg preachers, in his desire to save the black community from the "beasts" within.
Religiosity's Multiple Standards...Humanity's Poisonous Brew
"Pope Benedict XVI rejects the idea of Jesus as a politcal revolutionary and insists that violent revolution must never be carried out in God's name in a new book being released Thursday [3-10-11] amid great fanfare at the start of Lent...In the book, Benedict exonerates the Jews as a people for Christ's death. He also insists that Jesus never advocated violent revolution as some liberation theologians have suggested, saying violence was not His way no matter how valid the revolution."
The Pope concludes by saying "Violence does not build up the kingdom of God, the kingdom of humanity. On the contrary, it is a favorite instrument of the [Antichrist], however idealistic its religious motivation may be."
I'm in accordance with the Pope's philosophical outlook about Jesus, and that mankind's belief in a "supreme power" in this universe got very distorted by some very wicked people...going back to the death of Jesus, continuing with the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the covert support of Hitler's racial genocide. Now, Stalin might have been just as bad as all right wing religionists want to toss into the mix, but Stalin was just plain evil despite race or religion...for the benefit of Stalin and his lust for power.
In closing, history will reveal that religiosity(all faiths included) with the distortion of one's belief in God is the primary cause of human conflict and destruction.
