John McCain...a POW, a patriot, a man of courage, but most of all, a man of honor.
I knew of John McCain, back when he was in that fiery disaster aboard the USS Forrestal, for he flew one of the aircraft from one of the Attack Squadrons that was within our Naval Command. I didn't hear about him again until we were told that he was downed in Viet Nam. Years later, he became a Senator in Arizona, and got caught up in the Savings and Loan debacle, but was cleared. Beyond this, he came to my attention again by playing a very instrumental role in gaining greater recognition for the legendary Tuskegee Airmen. This allowed me to get the Battleship Park in Mobile to be more forthcoming in recognizing those members of the Tuskegee Airmen from my home.
John would compete against the young Senator from Illinois, who later went on to become the 44th President of the United States. John conducted himself in an honorable fashion when at one of his town hall meetings, a lady rose to condemn Senator Obama as being a radical Muslim...John simply took the microphone from her and said "that's not true." He could have dragged his honor into the mud, by furthering this attempted character assassination against the young Senator, but didn't. That's the nature of honor.
This is something that "scumbags" such as Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Levin, and Boortz can and will never know or appreciate...they never were in the military, they never had to put their lives on the line, they never would run for a political office for it would mean having to make personal sacrifices financially, yet fools choose to give these bastards patronage.
Beck's "Come to Jesus" Meeting in DC??
The question is...which one? The Mormon version or the more than 10, 000 representations in the gamut of Christianity? Fools and their religiosity...thus, why native Americans said before being virtually annihilated by these bible-bearing faith mongers...devils speak with forked tongue.
For example, Sarah Palin a strong supporter of John McCain, and rightfully so, for the world would have never known that she with all of her baggage existed...supports T-Bag candidates, who are not really Republican, just right wing radicals. Yet, these right wing baggers as I purposefully refer to them are co-opting real American values for personal gain with minimum personal sacrifice, like Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and Boortz who all have attempted and continue to savage an honorable John McCain. These hypocritical "scumbags" have outright said they will not enter the political arena but choose to hide behind Palin's skirt tails...preying on suckers at will.
Sooo, after this show of Beck's "preying" and apostasy, it will be interesting to see if he will become the "top dog" while Hannity gambles in Vegas and Limbaugh golfs in Hawaii, with the Republicans lead by Michael Steele not knowing what in the hell to do with this meandering, political mess on the mall...8-28...a day that will be mired in political confusion.
"Green Pastures"... novel naivete
I looked in on the Glenn Beck "sham" (yes, I do categorize it as no more than a political sham, signifying nothing more than a con, as with Rush Limbaugh's effort to buy into a professional football team...just a different label on an old box of poison for personal profit..."spin capitalism" at work).
I am likewise critical of the march led by Al Sharpton today and other so-called civil rights' leaders who are not making any significant contributions to the legacy of MLK, Jr., just showing up in various places with speeches that accomplish nothing other than selfish notoriety for personal gain. Consequently, Beck and Sharpton have done nothing in honoring this man who gave his life for what he believed...knowingly!!
The movie "Green Pastures" ordered via "Netflix" just happened to arrive today and was a thoroughly enjoyable take on "Bible stories" as expounded in the black community in Louisiana...filmed in the thirties. It has some very wonderful "Negro spirituals"...the kind my grandmother enjoyed. Nevertheless, the movie opens with an apology by the studio, saying in so many words, this is what might have been stereotypical of blacks in movies during those times, but certainly doesn't represent the views of the current studio...as if an intelligent black person would not understand this...white folks...sometimes I wonder.
This sort of thinking is what prominently came to focus in my mind with Beck's efforts to pull off this sham in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and also with these so-called black leaders who try to ride King's coattails, as if black folks can't see through this?
Anyway, commentary is given by some well known current black actors and writers about their take on the movie at the end of the DVD. I suggest you order a copy and judge for yourself.
Change or die...
From the Associated Press(San Francisco, 8-27-10): "USA Today, the nation's second largest newspaper, is making the most dramatic overhaul of its staff in its 28-year history as it de-emphasizes its print edition and ramps up its effort to reach more readers and advertisers on mobile devices."
Translation: The "web" is to hard copy what the Gutenberg Press was to handwriting scrolls individually, automobiles to buggies and whips, flight to overland travel, etc., etc...it's called progress, as discussed in this 1992 video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXtrtw26L64
On the heels of the controversy surrounding the recent DC marches led by Glenn Beck, Al Sharpton, and some years back by Louis Farrakhan, supposedly trying to show America a path to surviving difficult times, claiming that it's returning to "God" that will make the difference...I submit this addendum.
I have a deep and abiding faith in God and strongly believe God wants this nation to get off its lazy ass, and lead civilization into the future as opposed to simply partying away the time on self-aggrandising accomplishments from the past.
You look at various shows on the "boob tube" and generally see news about how we are rapidly declining economically, awarding ourselves prizes for entertaining, as opposed to actually creating and producing on a global scale, patting ourselves on the back because of our religious outlook, and being conned by mush brained, self-righteous talk show hosts that couldn't so much as discipline their so-called brilliance to obtain a mere college degree...claiming to be experts with no proven substantiation.
I came across this film via Netflix entitled "The Future We Will Create: Inside the World of TED." TED stands for Technology Entertainment Design and took place in Monterey. You might even consider it a "geeks only flick." However, it's a culmination of some of the sharpest minds this nation has to offer, explaining and providing solutions to solving many of mankind's problems, while offering real directions on paths to be taken...and not just marching to DC or expecting the government to do it for us. Take a gander, you might be pleasantly surprised.
Contrasting the insanity of religiosity
There was an omen in the old NAZI regime...a people who would ban and burn books would do the same to people, and I be damned if didn't happen...the western version of religiosity.
Therefore, can we conclude in American society, that a people who would burn the Qu'ran would eventually burn Muslims? Hold on you devout followers of Islam...your hands are not altogether clean in this madness of religiosity by your not coming out in forceful condemnation of the lunatics of your religiosity.
The eastern version of religiosity...a people who would bomb people to get closer to their God are just as much a devil as the Christian right became in Hitler's regime.
Consequently, you participants of these extreme mad house religious beliefs, both Christian and Islamic alike, are creating a problem for American civil society, and I suggest the Justice Department keep a close eye wherever you nut-jobs may lurk.

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
Conclusion:
Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
