Virginia's Anatomical Program

I wrote an article entitled "Death, Dying, and Guilt Trips" http://theroanoketribune.com/rich_text_12.html giving my thoughts on the whole ball of wax. I concluded by saying, take whatever material property that I leave behind and use it toward my grands' education.

For those who are not "spooked out" by this inevitable event and the after life, I urge you to consider donating your body to your state's anatomical society, of which there is a program in all fifty states and Puerto Rico. Somehow, I feel very resolved and morally elated that I have eased my loved ones through an otherwise emotional tribulation by beating the "gravedigger" at his own game...boo-yah!!

The "Council of Conservative Citizens" doth protest...

It seems this group called the "Council of Conservative Citizens"...sounds like a "Rush Limbaugh's" spin off of the Ku Klux Klan, is upset that a black actor plays the role of a mythical "Norse" god called Heimdall in an upcoming movie by Marvel Studios.

See what I mean about racists simply being "stump-jumping" stupid?? Get a life!! It's just a movie based on a totally fictional character of mythology. You'd think it's "Birth of a Nation" that promoted real racists subordinating history and truth.

The Business of Education

My thinking today is that education has to become more mentally oriented than that of sports and entertainment. If a top notch university with a top notch football team could have their first string line-up with their GPA's given, e.g., Joe Quarterback, 6'2", 185 lbs, Engineering Major, 3.5 GPA...those stats are far more important in the game of life and say that this young man is going far beyond those sports stats.

Higher education is a profit/loss situation and the sooner parents and students become acclimated to the understanding, the farther ahead they will get toward the goals established...and, they should have definitive goals before enrolling. I say this from personal experience.

When I arrived in the Roanoke Valley, my intentions were to pursue an MBA at Virginia Tech. I took the GMAT, and upon my getting ready to enroll, I had to take some pre-requisites in Accounting before that could take place. I was also told I had to invest in a $3,000 lap top required for the Pamplin School. In other words, I was approximately $5,000 in the hole before getting started toward this "piece of paper." This was a losing proposition...for my budget. I decided on an alternative.

I found a book entitled the "12 Hour MBA", read it from cover to cover and concluded an MBA was not sufficient in telling me whether I was on the road toward my "real goal" and that was to originate a business concept, see if I could sell it, and make some money...that's what real business is all about.

I came upon my concept, now I had to package and sell it. I did some research via the Internet and got a "thesis" format from the University of Chicago, of which I was able to package the concept, and sell it to the health care provider with whom I was employed.

Conclusion: The health care provider bought it and I assumed I could sell it to other providers as well. I've now got a market for my business...thus, INFOBUCK.COM http://infobuck.com

When Racists Spat...

Mark Levin, who's taking leave of his evening talk show until January 3, 2011, says he's tired of the day time talk show hosts co-opting his ideas such as "soft tyranny", "statists", and a few other supposedly intellectual observations to which I assume he's referring to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Glenn Beck is also away until January 3rd like Levin...not sure about Limbaugh.

Anyway, I wonder if these right wing racists get together to spar or spat about their attempts to undermine not only the Presidency of the United States but the nation as a whole that he's trying to guide to a higher plain? I also wonder if there's some sort of political huddle with the likes of say...Sister Sarah Palin while away...their favorite front runner for the 45th?

What's obvious to me is that there is some justifiable discontent among these right wing talk jockeys. Could it be that "jew boys" Mark Levin, Michael Savage, and Neal Boortz are finally becoming pissed with the two "white trash Aryans"...Beck and Limbaugh? Go figure...

What's with Michael Jordan and the Hitler's moustache??

While watching some of the NFL games Sunday, I caught Michael Jordan in one of his "Hanes" underwear commercials...sitting on an airplane, sporting what looked like a Hitler's moustache, not saying anything, just smiling like an idiot, looking more like Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe...the sociopath in Africa.

Now, I'm not going so far as to say Michael Jordan is a sociopath, but he's an ex-baller of the Chicago Bulls, promoting Nike, and other sneakers of which some young people got robbed and  killed, a gambling degenerate, a golf junkie, dumb at times, when he remarked "I growed up" and a "piss-poor" former family man that loves to chase "white women".  Kind of falls into the crew of Tiger Woods and OJ Simpson. An "American Hero"?? The hell you say...??

When I think of true sports heroes, I think of Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Tommy Smith, Jon Carlos, and Hank Aaron from my hometown of Mobile...and my lists stops there. The rest of these "dumb jocks" are simply "chumps and  wannabes". Of course, there are a few more sports stars, but none to the extent of putting their sportsmanship as well as their lives on the line in achieving their goals, as these real heroes I just mentioned.

Movies that move society

"The Corporation" and Spike Lee's "Bamboozled" are two such films available from "Netflix". The films focus on business interactions/interfacing with modern humanity... most often through "technology" as well as traditional marketing...in other words "give them what they want, not necessarily that which is good for them."

I have strongly promoted the use of technology in solving many of mankind's problems, but this comes with both moral and ethical limitations...unlike the recent Catholic Church's condoning illicit, selfish homosexual activity. Just do it!! ... but "with condoms."

Nevertheless, you as a hopefully, sane and sound individual will make the morally right decisions under that which maybe considered unethical and given to immorally weak decision-making, by putting instant gratification over enduring love, and the possible destruction of what we consider to be modern society. 

In other words, consider this sort of encouragement by the Catholic Church to be simply bad advice... by an otherwise major entity of religiosity; whereby, I have personally and most often made known my thoughts about the "poison of religiosity."

Protesters against "Secession Ball"

The Confederate Heritage Trust scheduled a dance in Charleston, South Carolina near where the secessionist document was signed 150 years ago, beginning the travesty of the Civil War. The Confederate Heritage Trust says it "wants to honor the Southern men who were willing to sacrifice their lives for their homes and their vision of states' rights." It is also sponsored in part, if not wholly by the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Of course, my thoughts about these "sons of traitors" is that they are simply a residue of the Ku Klux Klan without the bed sheets. 

The leaders of the South Carolina NAACP are in protest to the event. My thoughts about this organization with this protest? A misspent reaction by "dumb ass" civil rights' leaders barking up the wrong cause. As long as the Confederate Heritage Trust sponsors a strictly, privately supported event, with nary one red cent of the taxpayers' dime nor one second of taxpayers' time...have at it. This has been the case for generations in the home of Mardi Gras celebrations in Mobile, AL, my place of birth, with white, segregated secret societies picking up the tab for their "dim-witted displays of drunkeness." This happens also to be my thought about the Sons of Confederate Veterans... stay secret with your shame in your failed attempt to destroy this nation, along with your memorial "battle rag".

I do have a problem with the Governor of Virginia, Bob McDonnell, foisting a mandated celebratory month dedicated to these "sons of traitors" in their attempt to overthrow the US Government, and in order to keep my ancestors enslaved...a big problem!! Julian Bond and the NAACP, where are you when truly needed to protest and even defeat this forced "celebratory" memory of war, slavery, and bloodshed...both black and white??
